The
Gospel message is a simple message of hope and assurance. The Bible tells us
that all men are sinners and we fall short of God's standards of righteousness.
It teaches us that man is not only guilty of sin, but is a slave to sin. We are
without hope and incapable of redeeming or saving ourselves from its power and
penalty.
Jesus
Christ came into this world for the very purpose of solving this dilemma for
man. He did it by becoming our substitute and the bearer or our sins. He paid
the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross. He paid the penalty off in full
for every sin that you have ever or will ever commit.
Does
that sound too good to be true? This is why the message is called the Gospel or
"good news". If we are willing to repent and turn from our sins and
turn to Christ, admit that we are sinners in need of a Savior, recognize that
Jesus Christ paid the penalty of sin for us, and are willing to ask Him to save
us, He will do just that. It is not Jesus plus my good works, but simply Christ
alone. What He has done at Calvary is sufficient to save you for all eternity.
Why
not ask Him to save you right now! Just bow your head and call out for Jesus
Christ to save you. If you have done this, then you can know that today you
have a Savior who will never leave you. Begin to spend time with your Savior
through prayer and Bible study. The Bible is how God speaks to you, and prayer
is you talking with God. Meet faithfully with others who know Jesus Christ as
their Savior and begin to share with others the good news about what Jesus
Christ has done for you! There are still many who have never heard this
wonderful message of hope and love.
